Rules for event hosts
These rules apply to a host: the person an event on https://inviteberry.com is FOR, when somebody else organises it. If you run your own event you are an organiser, not a host, and the Data Processing Addendum (/legal/dpa) is the document that describes you instead. You accept these rules in the panel before it opens, and the acceptance is recorded with its date and wording.
Your organiser holds the account for the event and decides what you can reach. What follows is about the part you can.
The guest information you see
- You will see your guests’ names, phone numbers and email addresses, their answers, and what has been sent to them. It is theirs, not yours: use it for this event and nothing else.
- Do not copy it out of the panel into another system, and do not pass it to anyone who is not working on this event. That includes exports: an exported guest list is the same personal data in a file that is easy to forward and easy to lose.
- Your sign-in is yours alone. If another person needs access, ask your organiser to grant it rather than sharing your password.
- If you receive a request from a guest about their own data (a copy of it, a correction, deletion), send it to your organiser or to us. You do not have to answer it yourself, and you should not act on it alone.
The photographs
- You can hide a photograph from the gallery and publish one that is waiting. Those are your decisions and you are responsible for them.
- Hide anything a guest would reasonably not want shown, whether or not they have asked. That is the point of having the control.
- Never publish a photograph in order to embarrass, expose or ridicule anybody, and never publish one you can see was taken without the knowledge of the person in it.
- A formal request to remove a photograph is not yours to decide. Those carry legal deadlines and are handled by your organiser and by us. If a guest asks you directly, pass it on and do not promise an outcome.
- Downloading photographs is for your own use of your own event. Sharing them onward is subject to the same care as everything else on this page: they are pictures of other people.
What is not yours to do
You cannot message guests, change the guest list or move the seating, and the panel does not offer it. This is not only a division of labour: two people sending to the same guests, or editing one list at once, produces double invitations and lost answers. If something needs changing, ask your organiser.
The money
The expense plan and the record of what each guest gave are yours to keep, because they are about your event and your money. They are visible to your organiser too, which is how they help you run it.
If something goes wrong
If you think guest data has been exposed, or a photograph is up that should not be, tell your organiser and write to us at [email protected]. Do not wait to be certain. We may suspend access to an event where these rules are broken, and your organiser may withdraw it at any time.
